The Boutiques Story
2002
Boutiques began at Fort Canning Centre with 17 vendors as a twice yearly, one-day shopping event.
2012
Now a two-day event, we moved to a new venue at House on Dempsey for our November fair, where we were joined by over 60 vendors.
2013
Gallery Hotel was our next stop. Our community continued to thrive, with over 70 vendors at our November fair.
2014
Alas, we arrived at our current home at the F1 Pit Building! Our fair occupied two rooms on level 2 and our vendor community was now in the 100s.
2015
From two rooms, we grew to three in November: ROSE, BLUE, and GREEN.
2016
We teamed up with Singapore Fashion Week for our November fair to present a selection of 12 Singapore brands.
2017
Boutiques began its collaboration with the Singapore Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF), which led to the curation of EDIT, our fourth room on level 3 of the F1 Pit Building. Now occupying two floors, our Spring/Summer Edition also ran as a partner event of Singapore Design Week 2017. In November, our fair was extended to three days for the first time and we had over 200 participating vendors. EDIT on level 3 welcomed a new neighbour with the addition of a fifth room, SOCIAL — a food and beverage focused lounge and shopping area. Nearly 33,000 visitors shopped with us this year!
2018
A sixth room was launched on level 3 — COLLECTIVE was a space for visitors to converse with designers as they grabbed a quick bite or enjoyed interactive workshops.
2019
After unveiling our first communal workshop space in SOCIAL during our Spring/Summer fair, a seventh room, BREATHE, was introduced in November. BREATHE housed green retail brands, healthy food options, and The Circle — a new intimate space for talks and classes. The turnout for our November fair was the largest yet as we welcomed over 37,000 visitors within three days!
2020
Armed with a new look, Boutiques launched a 24/7 ecommerce marketplace in addition to our in-person fairs. People could now discover, connect, and shop year-round from our community of vendors on one online platform.
2021
In February 2021, Boutiques made the decision to cease operations of our online platform.
2022
After a two-year hiatus from physical events, Boutiques returns to the F1 Pit Building for a much-anticipated Spring Summer 2022 Edition!
